Jaco has been a partner of Hahn & Hahn Attorneys for longer than 12 years and has more than 20 years’ experience. He advises various businesses, from large to small, as well as government departments and parastatals.
Jaco started his career in 2002 at Rossouws Attorneys in Bloemfontein where he was admitted as an attorney. In 2006 he decided to broaden his horizons and joined the forensic division of the auditing firm, the then PricewaterhouseCoopers. During this time, he obtained his master’s degree in forensic accounting. In 2010 Jaco joined Hahn & Hahn Attorneys – Forensic Accountants – Food lawyers.
Jaco has advised some of the biggest companies in South Africa such as Shoprite Checkers, KFC, Tiger Brands, the PEG group of companies, the Barnes group of companies, Restonic, but to name but a few.Jaco has also represented and/or advised the Public Protector of South Africa, the South African Reserve Bank, the National Credit Regulator, the Department of E-Gov, the Construction Industry Development Board, the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development, The Department of Water and Sanitation and various other government departments and institutions.
At Hahn & Hahn, Jaco heads up its forensic division and has continued to be appointed as an inspector and repayment administrator in terms of the provisions of the Banks Act and the South African Reserve Bank Act to investigate, amongst others, collective investment schemes. Jaco also regularly advises the forensic division of BDO on various forensic investigations.
